Grant me thy favour
Some time from thy life
For my heart abounds
With clamour and strife.
The pain leaps up
Through my inward tree
Damning my chance
Of eternity.

I ask that your heart
Beat with mine
That you share my pain,
For this moment thine.

Contain my anger
And my tears
Unshed, unspent,
These lifelong years.

What lies beyond
I cannot tell
Undreamt of feelings,
Untouched by hell.

So until the storm
Has cleared the sky
And my spirit free
To soar and fly,
Please accept my life
As if thine own,
Until I dwell
In my inward home.
